Hi Rosebud, love your avatar by the way.
I'm not sure how Karma works or if it is fully working as there doesn't appear to be a button to apply it. Dan Added Karma a few days ago along with a Like button for threads and individual posts.

I actually object very strongly to the like business.  I becomes a form of bullying, when someone does not get any likes.

I feel so sorry for children who nowadays have to put up this kind of thing.

I for one hope that Dan will see fit to remove it.

Hi,

I have removed the Karma function after some private feedback, I've left the 'Like' function as I think it is nice to be able to say an easy thanks to a post.

I find your posts are varied, interesting and informative and I enjoy reading them 
If you want to like a thread, go say to the Basic Board and you will see Like alongside each thread other than ones you have started yourself. Just press the like button and job done, you still have the option to remove a like if you made a mistake. Same goes for liking a post, where you see the Like in an orangey-brown box press and you have liked a post. Again you can't like your own post.

NO...they are not 'that bad' at all..quite opposite..I don't use 'like' and suspect many don't. So don't read onto those 'buttons' too much'

I don't mind if we have these buttons or not, they don't bother me..if people want to use them, so be it..but I just find them little bit a 'conversation killers'. It is lazy to just click on button and be done with...I would rather have people making effort and type few words if they have opinion to share..it would keep forum more lively too.

I do also try to put in a question when things are going quiet. 

Does that mean you cannot see the 'like' tab on your own posts.  Now I understand, the 'like' tab is to click on when you like something.  I was beginning to sulk because every post had a like on it expect mine.  Duh.

Good idea if you like the post but have nothing to add. Not for me though cause I'm a gobby sod and  usually have something to say. What I do not like is if you are giving bad news like 'my wifes just left me'  like seems inappropriate. But then again it could be good news.

In some forum's they have whole range of different 'buttons' like 'agree'..'disagree'...'love'...'interesting'. Many people don't seem to used them 'correctly' or it brings 'trolls' out of the woodwork.
Suppose having just 'like' is not too bad..it makes opinion giving easy..you either like or not...or can't be bothered with either...
