Sorry but totally non allotment.

My phone is ringing constantly every few minutes but there is no incoming call.  Driving me mad.  Does anyone know why?

I would ring BT but I cannot cope with their voice activated system it simply does not understand my accent and keeps asking the same questions over and over again.  And when you can finally get an operator they are very snooty.

First check that you do not have a faulty handset. Borrow a neighbours phone for ten minutes and see if it still happens. Or do you have an alarm set on it that you have inavertantly switched on.

Many thanks for your response, I have now found that I am a complete idiot.  I had to go out and collect my OH from the bus, and part the way there the ringing started again, but this time it was in the car with me. :tongue3:

Seems my new mobile phone starts ringing every few minutes when you receive a message and sound just like the land line.   :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

Senior moments eh! Wouldn't it be better for OH to get the bus home ?

Digeroo

Unfortunately the last bus home leaves at 17.45  :BangHead: and his train was late so he missed it.  The next bus finishes about 5 miles away.  It is not a very nice walk because it is a main road and there is not pedestrian alternative or footpath and certainly no lighting.

The frustration is that the other bus goes every 15 minutes and then later 30 minutes and then hourly, right up to midnight pity it cannot go the extra few miles occasionally.   There is no bus home for the youngsters who want to do evening activities in the town.    Ice skating, cinema, evening classes for example.

Fine for him I can pick him up, but if I use the bus he can not longer drive after a stroke so I am doomed.   He left on the 7:15 bus so tends to be rather tired by 18:00.

Five miles is a bit of a hike so I'll let you off, but spare a thought for those who no only have to swim 5 miles home if they miss the last ferry, but then walk another 5 as the bus stops when it gets dark here.

Sorry Digeroo but I laughed out loud! Then remembered when my son came the other day I heard a mobile ringing and said "Answer your phone"  only to be told it wasn't his phone. It was in fact mine, I was so surprised because my mobile only rings about three times a year. I only have one so that if I am out in the car and break down I can call my son or grandson.
