To owning a Nissan Micra (spit).

The Yeti In Pink Knickers has decided she wanted a titchy witchy little car. One you don't pay road tax on and is a bit more economical than the twin top Astra. She has worked out with part exchange and her milage allowance she can get one. So a Kia Picanto is being readied for the road as we speak. She has been tracking it for a few weeks ever since she ordered it, all the way after it was loaded and shipped from the south china seas to its arrival in Southampton.

I have cleared a space around the back of the shed so she does not have to leave it on the drive, just so the neighbours don't think we have hit skid row. I shall still have my 4X4 out front keeping up appearances. I doubt I will drive it myself unless I can sneak out after dark in the next few days. Any later than that and it will be impossible to get in to it if her current form of turning her vehicles into a pigsty continues.

Not a bad deal though, for a little motor with all the bells and whistles for £8,500 on the road with free servicing for the next 3 years and a 7 year warrantee. Still three times more than my first house though.

Ah..nice as Kea is...it still doesn't come to same league with micras...they are FAB!  :icon_cheers:

You'll see...you WILL BE borrowing you dearest car once you get taste of it...particularly when you feel the money saving with petrol in your back side...it will be sore...so much money piling up in that deep pocket of yours that you won't be able to sit straight...get the painkillers out already!  :icon_cheers:

And think of those ultra - small parking spots you will be able to slip into.

I bought one these on a 61 plate when it came out, absolutely love it very economical and no tax indeed

We finally got a second car just a year ago....the husband had been hankering for a year or 2 with me working shifts at a hospital 20 miles away...but I knew that I wouldn't be 'allowed' to get something in pink or 'lairy green' if I expected Him to drive the new (smaller) car whilst I used the larger car for longer journeys up North....he wouldn't be seen dead :confused1: in anything too girly...so my little car (a 1.2 fabia) is a  grey/blue colour.

a  grey/blue colour.

You are lucky, this little beast is white to colour co-ordinate with her little mutt which sometimes looks like this if you can keep her out of the mud.

Aaargh, It talks to you, It came today and started yapping as soon as I got in it. What with the satnav giving me grief and the satnag giving me even more, all I need is the bloody car chipping in with its five penn'orth worth. Thank god for the bus pass. It's enough to drive you around the bend, but even then they would all be shouting 'DO A U TURN NOW'

ACE, get in your 4 x 4 and come up to Birmingham and I will let you
drive my Micra (spit) around the allotments.  I know you will love it
and I may even clean it especially for you (even though it was cleaned
for the MOT in May)

Anyway, it might be your last chance because I'm hoping to upgrade to
a Piaggio as soon as I've saved up enough.

Get the tuk tuk, you know it makes  much more sense than a micra (spit). Just imagine driving a 1X3 all painted up with all the gods to growing things hanging from the windscreen, candles and incense plus a bindi stuck on your forehead. Get some practise in, take a wheel off the Nissan for a while.

This thread is getting very amusing.

Do not forget the Bollywood music baring out.   And you can carry three people on a 200cc engine, if things get difficult they can always get out and push.

Nissan Micra, Kia Picanta..............even People who've Completely Given Up On Life still need to get around you know

I went out on three wheels today. A pedal tricycle. Sun on my back, wind in my hair, through the countryside, just pedalling gently, up hill and down dale. Then I got fed up and turned the electric front wheel on and cruised home effortlessly. The dogs loved the basket on the back and a sarnie and couple of cans in the front basket. Perfect.

Squash64

Glad you are getting used to the 3 wheel idea ACE - I've found something which
I think you would love.
It does need a little work doing on it, but that shouldn't be a problem to a man
with your skills.

Batribike, I got it for £300 because the bloke that owned it was scared of going on the road. He done 7 miles then got a mate with a van to bring him home. Usual price is nearly £1400 which is a bit steep when you see how many cheap Chinese bits ar on it. I certainly would not pay that much. It is good though just pedal gently and if you have to pedal harder the motor cuts in and takes you along easily or you can be completely lazy and just twist the grip on the handlebars and sit back.
