One of few successes this year- my Cobra benas are producing like mad! Other than freezing them, any suggestions?

Snap! My conclusion is:......Don't grow as many  :dontknow:

Thing is I grow my Cobra in two batches.....the first batch was 17 plants.... the second batch is 12 plants and these are only about 6" high at the moment so perhaps by the time they are ready I will have used a lot of what I have or I can  find another source for the second batch.

But I have to say this: they are the best beans on the market by far in my opinion.

I don't grow runner beans as I find with these I do not have 'stringy' problems and I harvest equally as many per plant.

Yes, I discovered them last year and won't be growing anything else now! That is a lot of plants- I've only got 10 plants (started with 12 but the slugs got two) and that's too many!

If you can preserve 'Dilly Beans' are a good way of using up beans.  You don't need a pressure preserver or pressure cooker, a simple waterbath will do.  The recipe is from USA (there are dozens on www) but the result is really delicious.  A bit like bean salad, really lovely.

Here is just one of many recipes as a suggestion:

Not fond of pickled stuff but that bacon recipe sounds interesting.

As an add on I think a chopped onion fried with the bacon until it is caramalised might be a good alternative to it!

I'm drooling.....sorry!
