we like to run a tight ship here on the sunshine coast however i think that the committee on this occasion went a little too far after all it was only that his plot edges were not straight  lol :drunken_smilie:

It's more likely to be the poor secretary who dares to suggest to a member who hasn't grown anything but weeds for the last three years that its time to give up their plot.

Old Jim must have really distressed them to make them plant both him and the flags upside down. :angel11:

There is a simple reason for that.....he like me planted./sowed later than most because in the days we learned our craft, there were such things as "Seasons of the Year" nowaday you can get all of these in one week!

Unlike the weather .....we haven't changed!  :iamwithstupid:

Give him my best wishes the next time you see him and tell him that there is at least one person in this world agrees with him :occasion13:

indeed tg at least you have the internet jim bless him has not took the leap yet ive offered to set it up for him and show him the ropes he would even get it for free as he has sky sports  but as yet he has resisted  any way  planting here on the sunshine coast its very mild the sea is only a mile from our site  with the breezes we get frost very rarely and i know that seasonal allotmenting in many parts of the country is still practised with our light soil and favoured location we can be a little more footloose in our planning and as i always ask Jim when he is trying to wind up the others when was the last time you lost crops to  a late frost he scratches his head  and smiles then says i cant remember

Yes I have the internet now but I have only had that for the past 17 years. The twenty five or so years before that I only had my diaries to work with, in other words I did the same as Jim.

Later  I created my website from my diaries to help people in need of this type of information.

In fact  I still use my diary information to this day when planning my next season., more so now that my memory is not what it used to be.

I have maintained filling in my diary since building my website and I am thinking of collating the last fifteen years data this winter to see if in fact this global morning issue with its mixed weather patterns has made any difference to my previous results.

I don't think I will be publishing the results soon as this will be a big task to do but if I do find variances I will keep you informed.....Tg
