CHEERS Yorkshire Lass,i just stumbled over your chutney recipe.......do you still make it the same way.......as you said back then..........

your words...........

Fig Chutney

Here is the recipe I use.

1kilo figs
150ml malt vinegar
150 ml cider vinegar
250g chopped onion
250g sultanas
1tsp salt
1tsp allspice
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp coriander seeds

Chop figs and put in saucepan. Add the vinegars, onions sultanas salt allspice pepper and coriander seeds.  Bring to boil and simmer gently for 15 mins. Stir to prevent sticking until mixture is thickened.  Put in sterilized jars.

It is my favourite chutney, gooseberry being second.

as I would like to have a go.................

Bob Flowerdew was saying on GQT that wasps hat got some of his figs. Apparently there are going to be a lot of wasps around this month and next so he's putting paper bags over his!

Inspired by your decorative  plate of figs, Gazza!  I made this today for a meal for a friend's 70-th birthday.  Much healthier than a cake!  I used home-made lemon curd mixed with crème fraiche.  It was much appreciated.
