I found this site today and thought it explained a lot of things.
Be prepared to spend a couple of hours on it as I think it is interesting to any lotty holder especially the guys diary..

Another great site - but SHAME on the vandals.

They ought to be set to dig a barren plot or 2??

Apparently offenders on probation or those doing community service don't do "menial tasks"

We asked the probation service to help us with communal litter picks and weeding

They said they'd help litter pick but failed to turn up as it was too cold.  The primary school children turned up and litter picked an entire recreation ground.

I wonder sometimes if it's just that the service can't be bothered to organise work for them to do.  We're going to ask them again as we're having a face to face meeting to find out why they won't do such work in the community.
I came, I saw, I composted

That's OK Tim.
Although I really couldn't manage the lottie without John. We are a team. He keeps all the edging, paths, compost bins, sheds etc. in good repair and I do the planting - I'm always referred to as 'the manager' ha ha.
The web site was just for fun - a learning curve if you like - I am totally self-taught on the PC. Lots of head aches on the way but I've enjoyed it.

Gardening in SE17 since 2005 ;)

Beryl

Thank you for your welcome. I will try and get back as often as I can.
The cold snap this last couple of days nearly caught me out. I had planned to plant out my peas this week-end but with temperatures plummeting decided to keep them under wraps for another week.
Watched the 'wedding' instead.

Lazybones

I have just realised after looking at your website Gavin that I have you to thank for my getting my allotment last year.  I was surfing the web one winter evening and came across your website and it looked so lovely and straightforward I realised that the time had come and I had to take the plunge.

Not sure you would want that info broadcast too much if you saw my lottie but hey, I'm trying.

Still thanks again Gavin  ;D ;D ;D
