You may need to translate terms like "ken" to "know" for some folks!!

I can't help you re delivery of manure however I asked my local farmer if he would sell any and he offered it for free.  It was well rotted manure, a year or two old and my first earlies are currently absorbing it.  You could also try local stables etc...

Tried one stable- seemed willing to get rid of it but was suspicious- the guy had no driving license but said i could drive his tractor there- im not old enough to drive, ken?
Some aberdonian phrases just for Quinny:
Fooze yer dooze- how are you
dinna fash yersel'- do not be come irate

What could be suspicious about manure?  If he lets you borrow his tractor even better.  What are you waiting for?  You want manure - he wants rid of it.  What could be simpler  ;D
I came, I saw, I composted

I believe hayfield stables give it away for the taking. at garthdee field we get it from a farmer with the last name of mitchell he is in the phone book. it costs £30 or £40 for a 3 or 4 ton load which can last a couple of years. by the way where is your plot

Thank you very much plotter, as for the rest of you, get your own manure! ;D My allotment is on hilton drive (at the end). I have cycled past your site before and it looks very popular. Ive heard about an annual gathering for allotment people in aberdeen at foxlane garden centre, might see you there
