Here is what Tony's been doing today. The frame is made of the top halves of wilkie's arches and canes. The canes are threaded through the long sides and I have threaded some fine wire through the ends and gathered it up. All is held down by pegs. Someone was kind enough to give me some onions either Kelsae or ailsa craig. I potted them up and kept them under fleece for a couple of weeks to protect them from the dreaded fly whilst I armillatoxed the ground and left it for 3 weeks. I just hope that it isn't too late to get a decent crop from them, At least if I don't then the onion fly won't either.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Excellent Shirl. Must show it to son John!! He did make me a frame to put the net over my peas (still got quite a lot of strap metal from Charlie's days) which is working great> will ask him if his "bending" tools could make curved ones.

Thats what Tones doing with the straight bits that are left over. He had a piece of wood with a hole in it and was bending the pipe so should have another frame when he's done.

Shirl I just thought if the tool is big enough for big curves he (john) can knock me up some easily and will be uniform size The tool is what Charlie bought when he and John made my wrought iron fence  etc (for all the swirly bits ;D)
Take care. Lorna/

We don't get out much these days what with me mom or we wouldn't hesitate. Talking about me mom , she is off to an old folks home on Sunday for a weeks respite. We would offer to come and help you but it's the first break we have had in 3 years and we want to just get our breath back.
