Fabulous Tim!  We should all be sharing a pint with them and their history!

It's a gorgeous garden, isn't it? Did anyone see the CP's being interviewed and saying how much they liked it?
It went down very well :)

What makes a chelsea pensioner a chelsea pensioner...if you know what I mean.

bunnycat

Thanks Time.  That's the nearest I'll ever get to going to Chelsea so ta very muchly.  Like the RSPB garden, especially the end bit of the raised bed where they've used recycled stuff to make gabions with shelters in for wildlife.  That could work well on the lotty.  A lightbulb has got switched on in my brain.  Ta da
I came, I saw, I composted

Perfect Bunnycat!  I now know all about it and have forwarded the site to my mum as she didn't know either!  Very interesting!

Loved this show garden.  Was fantastically done - it looks so authentic.  It is my dreamto go to the Chelsea Flower Show. Really enjoyed the coverage this year on TV.  :) busy_lizzie

beautiful garden but my vote went to Kim Wilde and her Cumbrian garden. She is not one of these arty f@rty designers but a down to earth gardener who really gets her hands dirty

Oh, dear, I missed that one. V nice. Love Cumbria - family etc.

While here, may I use this spot to tell you a quick one - on how to get ahead in life?? Don't read it if you're easily bored!

Arranged a 'do' at The Hospital for foreign military 'brass' while in MoD Protocol in the '60s.

Got there early to check all OK. And the wine. Came the hour - chatting to the Head of Government Hospitality (who was funding it) & some 'brass' - wine came on a silver tray - sniff, slurp, pause, Mersault?? Sniff, slurp. pause, '59??
Much eyebrow raising. After which I was very well served by the 'powers that be'!!

And that is how we later got into the Gardens through the Hospital garden door on members' day.

Did you get this far?? Go get a hat!!
