Merry Christmas to you!

I have an onion sowing and sweet peas planned for Boxing Day. I must try parsley, too, as it always takes ages. Any tips?

💐Sweet-peas sown end of last November in big tub outside (Cornwall ) are germinated and about 6" tall covered with fleece on a teepee to protect from snapping in the wind .I do this every year, it works for me.🌿🌿🌿   :coffee2:  Boxing day - I'm starting off Onion "Globo" on a propagator on bedroom windowsill, these will be moved out to the shed as soon as they are up .🌱🌱🌱 This is a new one for me , always done onions from sets in the past but last couple of years have failed me and sets are now too expensive for me . 🧅🧅🧅
Trespassers will be composted !

My sweet peas were sown a while ago,( I forget when!) and have had their first pinching out, and are in the unheated greenhouse. Probably sown way too early but I got away with it last year! Same with Senshyu onion seed, now outside. They will get knocked back in late winter but came through last year. I will sow more onions in late February for later in the year.  I planted garlic outside late October, but also have some in small pots in the greenhouse for planting out later sometime, not sure when!! They were supermarket Spanish organic, an experiment! I also have onion sets in small pots for planting out later. As for parsley I usually sow late Feb and then every few weeks until something comes up!! They really can take their time!! But they do seem to come up eventually. I think this year, just for Great Grandad, I will do a sowing on Boxing day. Nothing to lose!!

Merry Christmas everyone, and a happy and healthful New Year.

Ahhh, the balmy winters in Kent.  Good luck for these sowings and hope they work out.   :sunny:

I always leave a number of leeks to go to flower and have a bunch in the garden sticking out of a watering can , looking very life stylee. That now leaves me with an issue as three heads have now germinated and there are many seedlings (?) and another two,Babington have gifted bulbils , guess I need to get off the sofa and.........
